Choose 1:
1.) In Gen 17:1, God calls Abram to “walk before me and be blameless.” This becomes Abraham’s one responsibility as a covenant partner with God. Looking back at Abraham’s behavior before this moment do you think he is blameless? Why or why not? Do you think there is a change in his behavior after Gen 17:1? Why or why not? Use examples of his actions to demonstrate and support your claim.
2.) When God establishes his covenant with Abraham in Gen 17, Sarah is included in the covenant. She is given a new name and promised that she will have a son. Looking at all of Gen 12—25, what role does Sarah play in the covenant? Is Sarah an active character in the story? How so? What behaviors and actions does Sarah take in this narrative that makes her either a major or minor character in the story?
